No one who works a full-time job should have to live paycheck-to-paycheck. Too many Rhode Islanders aren't able to maintain a work/life balance; many are forced to work two or more jobs just to make ends meet. Melissa believes that all individuals and families should be able to provide for themselves and their loved ones, attain financial stability, and be able to sustain a high quality of life.

It is imperative that legislators support policies that help create new jobs, increase wages, and implement workplace protections. No one should have to choose between going to work and caring for a sick family member. Melissa is strongly in favor of workplace protection policies, like the Paid Sick Days legislation that passed last session, and is proud to be endorsed by RIWFP, RISAFF, and RIBCTC.
